This tool was developed as part of the Ressourcenlandschaft
Bergisches RheinLand Project ︎︎︎
The aim of the project for which this tool was built is the development of new regional circular economies through sustainable use of existing natural resources of the region of Bergisches RheinLand in Germany, as well as the utilization of previously unused/underused resources/residual materials through transformation of existing systems and the use of new technologies.
To support this aim, we at GRETAS built a graph database to find hidden possible connections between stakeholders in the region.
This tool was built for an online workshop where stakeholders were gathered together to brainstorm new circular solutions for the region and also find possible collaboration connections among themselves.
In a sort of “speed dating”, the stakeholders were sorted into online meeting rooms of two people, where they were asked to use our tool to visualize the existing network or possible connections among them and suggest new resources, technologies or even other stakeholders or connections missing in the network.
Together with the network, they also answered a questionnaire that gave us insight in how the network could be expanded and also if the stakeholders were willing to collaborate with each other to strengthen the circular economy of the region.
